Captivating young minds with whatever fantasy world a child can dream of and bringing it to reality is one of the reasons that Enid Blyton’s The Faraway Tree Series is one of the best storybooks of its time.
In “The Magic Faraway Tree”, Jo, Bessie, and Frannie take their cousin Rick on an unforgettable adventure.
As they encounter creatures of the Magic Faraway Tree, readers start to fall in love with Blyton’s captivating, silly and weird characters, such as Saucepan man, who is always dressed in saucepans and kettles and is even a little deaf due to the constant banging of the pots and pans.
The kids, along with their creature friends, climb up to the top of the magic faraway tree to the land above the clouds. Blyton takes us into her creative fantasy world as the characters explore various lands, each with its strange and unique attributes.
While Rick seems uninterested at first, with the tree and all its magical creatures and lands, he quickly joins in on the adventures as they venture into the Land of Spells, the Land of Toys and the Land of Goodies.
Each land has its own rules and although they are tempted to stay and enjoy the magical adventures, they need to make sure to get out in time before the Land disappears and they remain stuck in it forever.
Blyton takes the readers on a mysterious adventure through a great storyline that encompasses a wild imagination and grave details, making The Magic Faraway Tree a book that is not just enjoyable and gripping for children, but for young adults as well.
For anyone who wishes to stimulate their imagination by creating an entirely new fantasy world with all its infinite details and rules, this book will be a great read.
