For those individuals who believe in life after death, there is the expectation of meeting their loved ones after death. However, one does not expect to meet individuals’ unbeknownst to him. But, according to the book The Five People, You Meet in Heaven, by Mitch Albom, you will meet both people you know and those you don’t know.
Each of these five has somehow participated in carving out your path in life. Those five people will explain how and why your life panned out the way it did.
Eddie works as an amusement park maintenance man and gets killed by a ride. He was 83 years old, a loner and a widower when he passed away. He neither saw his importance or the importance of other folks in his life, besides that of his deceased wife.
When he arrives at heaven, he meets 5 people one at a time; some he recognizes, while others unknown to him. However, they’re all connected to him.
Mitch Albom has a boundless imagination and is well-versed in storytelling. The story is simplistically written, a talent Albom is known for, yet contemplates similar topics that other great philosophers have always pondered about; life and death. You probably don’t remember the last person standing behind you in a line, or sitting next to you on a bus. But, in Albom’s heaven, you might meet those people because they’ve affected your life in ways you couldn’t have imagined.
You don’t have to be religious to read this book. Despite its title, religion has very little premise in the book. But, there’s no denying it deals with the supernatural and the thought that nothing happens by coincidence.
There is a reason behind everything that happens to you and a reason behind all the people that cross your path. Everyone will have their own 5 people whom they will meet, and by reading this popular book, it might help you to connect the dots of what composes your life.
