Good Fellas - Movie Review

Here's a movie that just personified greatness. Martin Scorsese directed it perfectly and it was so beautifully made to the point that it became a work of art that people still talk about to this day.

If you want to see a movie that is the epitome of the mob, gangsters, and the glamorized life of a wise guy, then this is the movie for you. It's so good that it's hard to believe that it's a true story.

This movie portrays the life of a boy called Henry Hill who got into working for the mob at a very young age. He grew up in the tough streets of New York, but he had the protection of a bunch of gangsters that were called “wise guys”. He had his two buddies Jimmy and Tommy, and they all grew and made a name for themselves amongst the gangsters and crime syndicates of New York.

Later we see that things went south for Henry and his family and had to go to the police for help. They put them in witness protection, but Henry still missed his wise guy days.

The movie had a nice vibe to it for every scene, whether it was the nightlife, the conversations, the petty crimes, the jokes, and everything. I think my favorite scene has to be when they were all in prison and preparing food for dinner. I thought it was such an amazing scene and just shows you that wise guys had a luxurious prison life. Contraband and power made them get anything they wanted. There was just something satisfying about that scene and I really enjoyed it.

The music is great, it gives you that old-school vibe with the gangsters, and I thought it matched pretty well. Each scene had a beautiful and artistic sequence that was too perfect for its time.

Even though it came out in the early 90s, Martin Scorsese created an amazing masterpiece, and not a lot of people can replicate what he did. Each actor and actress performed brilliantly, and I enjoyed each of their arcs.

I think this movie will forever be one of the best true story adaptations that were ever created. It deserves more than just a 10/10 rating and I strongly recommend that you watch this remarkable movie and experience the great journey of Henry Hill.
