Friends - Season Two - Review

The first season of the show Friends wasn’t their best. It was kind of lost and uninteresting. However, it seems like the creators of this show benefitted from the feedback they got, returning with a great second season.

It’s not the best Friends season ever made, but it’s pretty funny. The lines are on point, for the first time, and really funny, to such an extent that the actors, of the show, can’t control themselves sometimes, bursting out laughing on set.

In this season, Rachel gets more comfortable in her own skin; she is now an independent woman, trying to find ways to discover who she really is and what she wants to do with her life. This is great for Rachel’s sake, as she finally notices someone who has been trying to date her;  her childhood best friend’s elder brother, Ross.

Ross seems to have had a crush on her since high school. In this season we get to see some bits and pieces of their “Prom Video” and the type of high school students they were.

The fact that Rachel notices Ross, only after it’s too late, is realistic and cute. She fights the urge to express her feelings towards him, now that he actually got himself a really nice girlfriend, Julie. She eventually does, with a little help from Joey, resulting in Ross breaking up with his girlfriend, for Rachel’s sake. Things then start to get complicated.

Monica, on-the-other-hand, is dating her parents’ family friend. Richard is a sweet man who she gets to actually fall in love with but struggles to tell her parents and everyone around her because he is double her age.

Joey and Chandler get closer as roommates. In this season their friendship develops and becomes stronger, some of the best Chandler moments are in this season too. Joey ends up getting a role at a Soap Opera as a Doctor.

This season is actually pretty relatable and funny. If you’re watching friends for the first time then consider yourself hooked after this season, you will just end up wanting more.
