It is based on a book of the same title and even though it stars a variety of A-listers it’s not one of my favorites movies.
The plot is divided into four stories that interrelate together in the end, each story describing a different problem that faces either people in a relationship or looking for one.
Gigi is always on the lookout for the perfect guy, or any guy at some point which leads her to misread the signs given to her by any male. On one of her dates, she meets a bar owner named Alex and he becomes her relationship advisor, he tries to help her know when a guy doesn’t like her. However, she mistakes his kindness for more than it is, ignoring everything he taught her.
One of Gigi’s friends and co-workers, Janine Gunders is obsessed with renovating her house and tries to engage her uninterested husband, Ben, who is having an affair with an inspiring singer named Anna.
This story highlights the main things couples do wrong in their marriages, whether it’s obsessing, having a callous attitude towards your partner, and many more.
On the other hand, Connor is head over heels for Anna, who wants a platonic relationship and he is ready to marry her, forced into a semi love triangle she is placed between a married man and a friend who wants more.
You would think one love triangle is enough, it’s not! Now remove Ben from the equation and put Mary, who helps Connor advertise his real estate in the newspaper she is working for. Mary, similar to Gigi when it comes to dating opted for finding her other half through online dating, yet was never lucky.
Now let’s add to the mixture the couple we all met before, the “we’ve been together forever and yet we still aren’t married” couple
In this case, Beth breaks up with her boyfriend of 7 years as she believes this relationship is heading nowhere since he doesn’t believe in marriage, yet to make it work both of them had to compromise after realizing they can’t live without each other.
