Mad Men Season Two - Review

In the previous and first season of Mad Men, we’ve seen everyone at their best and truest selves. We’ve seen Don’s past haunting him and we discovered that his real name is Dick Whiteman and that he accidentally killed Draper while in a war mission back in the day and stole his identity.

Ambitious and determined, Don's talents get discovered by his boss, Roger Sterling, and one of the senior partners of the company, Sterling Cooper, Don becomes one of the most famous and flamboyant (M)Ad Men in Madison Avenue. The second season answers one of the questions that we were all asking, will all this goodness last, or will life start deteriorating?

This season starts at a doctor’s office, where Don is there complaining about stress and life’s troubles and the doctor prescribes blood pressure pills for him. Betty has always been suspicious of her husband’s loyalty, so she finally kicks him out of the house and only allows him to see the children with her permission.

On-the-other-hand work is as great as always but Don keeps having issues at work. I love the life of the office that this series showcases, it’s very realistic and full of action. Peggy got herself a promotion and is now the very first copywriter in the agency, she even gets her own desk.

Copywriter, Paul Kinsey, breaks the norm and dates a black woman and head of the art and design department Salvador Romano struggles with his homosexuality. The fact that he’s gay will definitely not be taken lightly at the office and will become the disaster of his life.

I’ve also always been a fan of the redhead at the office, Joan. Who always seemed to have everything in place and men under control. However, now she’s in an abusive relationship with a Doctor and her ex-secret boyfriend Roger is already in another affair. The office drama gets more intense as Peggy’s issue of initially being seen as overweight leads to a paternity issue for Peter Campbell.

This season takes Mad Men to another level that will only leave you wanting to see more.
