The Dictator - Movie Review

If you like the star of Ali G and Borat, Sacha Baron, then this film is the right one for you. It’s insanely funny, you will always have this one friend who says this film is not for everybody but believe me, this friend is an idiot.

It will leave you with a smile on your face like you just watched a really funny movie. It’s smart, it’s entertaining, and the storyline will keep you hooked enough until it ends. The plot is just full of comedy, sarcasm, and political correctness. The actors did an insanely good job with the acting, the accents, and they managed to keep a light spirit theme for the movie.

There are some inappropriate sex and offensive rape jokes, but it will still make your feminist girlfriend laugh appreciating the plot. The story begins introducing Aladdin, who’s a fascist, dumbass dictator of his Wadeiya, which is supposed to be somewhere in the Middle East.

He is kind-hearted and does things out of ignorance and being dumb. Even though he is very dangerous, you will get to see a human, vulnerable side to his personality.

Now, the word is out on the street, that this dictator will be assassinated very soon during a trip to New York where he will be having a very important press conference in which he threatens America that he will do very dangerous things if they do not give up their fake democracy.

It has some real political sentences and gets into details too because they get to try and get him and his dumber double. But he doesn’t get killed and his double ruins that press conference, and he gets lost in New York, hiding out in a feminist girl’s organic shop.

From the moment this film starts to the moment it ends you will find yourself laughing at something they do or talk about. Or actually appreciating the storyline because even though it’s a light comedy, it’s a very smart, well-done one.

I, personally, wouldn’t mind watching it more than once. I couldn’t get rid of the accent or the lines from the film for months after watching it for the first time. You will love it.
