Friends - Season 9 - Review

This is the lowest rated Friends season ever and, in my opinion, season 9 and 10 are the best, but audiences are never really satisfied with how shows end. However, this season is still funny and they’re still those friends we all still miss and relate to tens of years after the finale was released. So, they continue with the whole Joey and Rachel thing and it ends.

Even though there’s nothing that makes this season stand out from other seasons, but the sex jokes. In fact, this season has so many sex jokes that it pissed some parents off! Not only that, but also, Monica’s father caught his daughter and Chandler do it, and not just once! This was pretty awkward, but still extremely funny. There are also episodes of Rachel struggling with Emma when she doesn’t stop crying, but Monica comes to the rescue.

There’s plenty of misunderstandings and jealousy in this season too. Ross gets really jealous of this male Nanny who Rachel tries to hire to take care of Emma so she can, you know, go back to work and have parts of her life back. Chandler getting insecure when Monica won’t stop talking about this guy at work that cracks her up on daily basis and Monica thinks Chandler likes sharks porn as she kind of “walks in on him” watching it.

She also suspects really bad things because Chandler has to stay in Tulsa for Christmas and he is stuck at the office with this girl at work who hits on him for some reason. Chandler is definitely guilty in this episode because he is smoking again but tries to hide it from everyone.

In this season we get to see a lot of Pheobe, like her relationship with her boyfriend, Mike, whom I absolutely love, and her fears and insecurities are brought up beautifully. And we get to see her getting frustrated with all of them because they’re all late for her Birthday dinner and she gets stuck there with Joey both struggling to keep the table that fits all of them.

Pheobe also gets to choose between her amazing new solid boyfriend Mike and her ex-boyfriend, “the one that got away”, David who came back and is determined to get back together with her. There’s a lot going on this season for Pheobe which is the only thing that makes it unique.
