Season 6 of The Office is slow-paced and disappointing as compared to its counterparts. The writers and creators have done a commendable job with the earlier seasons, which raises the viewer’s expectations. I was caught in the drift too, which is why season 6 felt distasteful, except for a few nitty-gritty moments in a few episodes.
A few notable episodes in this season are “Niagara” (episode no. 4 and 5) and “The Delivery” (episode no. 17 and 18) are based on the biggest milestones of Jim and Pam’s lives. The former shows how they got married at Niagara (you can, of course, expect a few bizarre moments) and the latter is based on their baby’s delivery.
The plot, as a whole, was based on how Dunder Mifflin went through a rough patch and an unbending economic turmoil, which led to a few changes in the fictional administration of the office operations. Jim is appointed as the regional manager for a while. Even though his position as a boss could have been a higher gameplay, the writers decided to backlash it entirely.
However, Jim returning to his position as a sales rep and sharing the cube with Dwight is much more acceptable for viewers, given that they keep prankster-characteristics intact. And since pranks between Jim and Dwight are legendary to the show, this move was totally justified.
“Scott’s Tots” is an episode that most viewers despise. And if you are an avid fan of The Office, I am sure that you cringed instantly. To put it in simple words, this episode is a package of awkwardness that equates to the whole show combined. Meanwhile, Isabela, Pam’s cousin, begins showing interest in Dwight, which he truly doesn’t deserve.
As I said, there are many instances that could have been turned around and saved the season. To sum it up, most of the episodes and characters were stagnant.
